after giving you a glimpse of the cold and abstract side of laridae with "wencoded", we now start into 2007 with a full-length-album by our newest artist iambic2, probably the warmest and most beautiful release on laridae so far. somewhere between sigur ros, mum, julian fane, milieu and SAW2, iambic2 produces and sings his songs of love and longing. on "Under These Stars, We'll Sleep Again", his debut, he presents you 13 songs, 13 beautiful pieces of emotional indietronica.

the wonder of life. the coincidence of being. photophob celebrates the origins of organic life by dedicating eight tracks to eight different microorganisms, floating lazily through the waters of a primeval ocean or crawling nosily around the crusty surface of the earth's first landmasses. eight tracks, neglecting nearly every form of freaky beat programming or spacy sound effects, making them more digestible than most of photophob's breakbeat oriented works. digitalis is the first full length album by photophob on laridae. 50 minutes of ambient, easy listening and space idm, forming the soundtrack for an imaginary science-fiction-movie. or maybe a computergame, who knows ... it's all about highly frequented spaceports and asian megacities located in the outer regions of the known universe, about huge starships, crashed on lonely planets with purple oceans and silver moons, about cosmic passenger ships, performing their docking manoeuvres like an...

Originally planned as alternative soundtrack to Fritz Lang's cult movie "Metropolis", kARHu's "Sinfonia For The Blunt Sword" has turned into something much bigger during its 4 years of production: a 76-minute masterpiece of contemporary electronic music, full of dark atmospheres, insane beat programming and merciless sampling. We are very proud at laridae to share this very inspiring work of brutal beauty with you.

Tom Pi’s childhood in the 70s and 80s was shaped by Superhero-comics, Action-figures, Science Fiction Series and Perry Rhodan novels. The naive charm and aesthetics of these early visions of future can be found again in his music. Analogue Synthesizers are wobbling along, psychedelic Guitar sounds are floating around and the voices sound foreign and somewhat mechanic. Bass and drums are unerringly paving their way through this sound universe. When the music winds down a little, that’s when...

With his newest side project "Das Gritli Moser" laridae co-founder Herwig Holzmann (aka Photophob) goes horror. On 9 tracks you'll get a fierce pandemonium of breakcore, noise and dirty samples - and a big stinky load of black humor. "Cha-Cha-Cha With The Devil" is the kind of music Beelzebub tries to dance to. You can try too - it can't make things much worse.

firnwald's eagerly awaited debut release on laridae. a full length album that shows what the co-founder and official mastermind of laridae is capeable of. on 14 tracks, firnwald combines abstract idm-rhythms and strange audio samples with extremely sweet melodies, all merged together with (as he would say) "lots of love and violence". music somewhere between idm, pop and ambient. cold but lovely.

actually produced as "macon tights" back in 2001/2002, this album is, according to photophob, a quite personal trip through the feelings he had at that time. it's not as mature as his recent works, but provides a nice and dense atmosphere throughout the whole recording. everything seems to spin around a dreamy and nostalgic theme of losing childhood, growing old and falling in love. kitschy feel-good idm meets romantic ambient.

it's hard. it's distorted. it's insane. it's XboT7. being the bad twin brother of one of austria's most versatile (but almost unknown) electronic music acts, XboT7 has earned the fame as merciless, but still funky torturer of helpless audiowaves, reliably hard, brutal and bizarre, located somewhere between industrial, drum&bass and noise. now laridae is proud to release a full length compilation of his best tracks, making the works of this great artist available to a broader audience.

Harry Jen, that means experimental music that doesn’t let it show, the experimental. Grown from the hot spot between pop and serious music, between acoustic and electronic, between natural and synthetic, and not least between concrete and improvised an unequalled sound emerges. Imagine paintings for the headphones. Organic, thought-out, uncompromising, sound affine. The tricks of sound wizard Harry Jen set standards.

"To Be The Odd One Out" is a mini-album by Winterstrand, a fruitful collaboration of three brothers from southern Austria, not only sharing the same genes, but evidently also the same love for what they call "soundscapes, heavy breaks and relaxed (but never loungy) rhythms". Being very commited to the Austrian scene and pleasing their fans with a bunch of experienced live shows, they now decided to release their newest album "To Be The Odd One Out" on laridae....

suddenly you see worlds, you thought you had forgotten so long ago. worlds with hills of green, giant towers, rocks floating in the air and squadrons of vicious mushrooms. your hands intuitively want to grab something like a joystick or gamepad, but have to be satisfied with the volume control. louder. the music drives us deeper into our twodimensional memories ... when everything was so much easier. we capture the needed power-up with a risky jump and go, run, jump along on our way from left...

In 2012, Tomoroh Hidari will release his light absorbing ambient monster "Some Stars Not Yet Black Holes" as double 12" on Record Label Records. Due to the extreme mass of this project, laridae was able to utilize the caused divergency in space-time, to release the spin-off album "The Black Star Variations" even BEFORE its own source release. So, we invite you to swap the Star of Betlehem with Hidari's Black Stars of dark ambient and wish you all a merry saturnalia!

it's winter, it's cold and laridae celebrates it's 10th release. and therefore we produced our second label compilation, but that won't make you feel much warmer ... because with "spherephorest" we managed to assemble the proper soundtrack for these frozen days. cold and frosty and everything but catchy, the laridae members, along with some guest artists, show you what winter is like in their heads. but never forget: frost patterns can be really beautiful sometimes and you can...

less is more ... more or less. on "please cut here", schaua's second release on laridae, there is not much going on, but that is in fact the wonderful charm of the recording. because schaua knows exactly what he is doing, and he knows how to draw the listener's attention to special sounds and melodies. minimal does not mean to do little, but to know what to do with a small but carefully selected amount of material. and that's what schaua is doing on "please cut here". enjoy!

core_worqs by the promising new laridae artist kompaqt.core will abduct you to the abstract territories of experimental sound design. messing around with his glitchy, ploppy sounds and profound melodies in extremely diverse ways, he manages to establish an absorbing atmosphere of alienating strangeness that seems to ensnare and reject you at the same time.

As you may have noticed, it has become a tradition for laridae to celebrate every tenth release with a very special compilation. This time, dear friends, it's our 40th album, and we take you to the mountains. Tie your shoes, check your rucksack, this is a hillwalk you will remember for quite a while. But beware - always mind your step! So look around every three minutes ... and see how your perception can change. Here's to the fearless wanderers!

firnwald provides you the musical background for looking back on your last holiday ... the beautiful beach, the orange sun setting into the deep blue ocean and this venus of a girl taking her daily sunbath just next to your place, increasing the risk of skin cancer by some hundred percent. 6 little daydreams of summer, salt and sand.

As "Modex", Rob Curulli produced some very well acclaimed IDM/Ambient releases for netlabels like Binkcrsh, Retropublik and well yeah, laridae. Now he is part of the Post Rock formation ROOFTOP ACCESS, along with Daniel di Rado, Ash Wheeler, Sam Hurst and Luke Slater. Together they now present you their very first EP "Easy Glistening", an astonishing piece of music, combining Labradford-like guitar work with electronic beats, sad pianos, epic soundwalls and last but not...

beitegeuze, laridae's silent hero, is back with his second release "mein liebchen". hardware fetishism meets retro nostalgia and merges together to form a mini album, that can hardly be compared to other net-releases. because beitegeuze is one of the few artists in the scene, who has really managed to build up a style of his own, aside from most popular trends in modern electronic music. on "mein liebchen", he continued this strategy consequently and produced 5 tracks...

This is the second official release by red.chamber, the project of Laridae third Bernhard Hansbauer. Invasion is a 45-minute piece of dark ambient drone sounds... not the easiest Laridae album so far, that's for sure! Imagine earth being invaded by not so friendly, discarnate entities, that's what Invasion is all about. Listen in solitude, in a darkened room... loud and open minded.

Pop on laridae? Yes - Pop on laridae! Why? Because we're not afraid of it. Not afraid to lull our listeners (you!) into a steady state of romantic melancholy. And how will we do this? By means of guitar based indietronic-pop with german lyrics by "Der Reisende" (The Traveler). Tickets for this trip on our philosophical love boat are available as usual on laridae.at

Winterphonic, the Austrian duo of Adina Camhy and Emanuel Jauk, dive deep into what they call a transformative process of decomposition and rearrangement. The result is Spirals, ten tracks, ten musical experiences. Trip hop comes into your mind - of course. The crispy mixture of Hip hop, Jazz and Electronica. Dirty sound of the 90ies, good old days, familiar depression. Yes, we're still in love with our sadness.

for our 25th release, we managed to sign a very special artist on laridae. MODEX, known for two gorgeous EPs on binkcrsh, agreed to provide us "pieces for triangulation", a full length album produced back in 2004. while rob curulli, the man behind MODEX, moved away from pure electronica to form two post-rock/post-metal bands (Binding Death and Rooftop Access), "pieces for triangulation" sums up everything that his electronic alter ego stood for: melancholy synth melodies,...

Are 10 years of making music enough to be called a legend? We guess so, and we congratulate the 8bit collective of Gameboymusicclub for their anniversary! Founded in 2002, GBMC have all rights to call themselves "the largest and sexiest gameboymusic collective in the world". Their fascination of an inexpensive electronic toy used as an instrument is contagious. Laridae is very happy to present you this very special album.

a remix album, containing 14 mixes from and for photophob. over the years, his collaborations with different artists on the internet lead to quite a big number of (re)mixes or complete reconstructions. now photophob decided to pack up the best of these works to form "mixes/d", a full length release, providing you more than 60 minutes of music and a quite wide range of different styles from industrial to idm and ambient.

Is there a sense of satisfaction in the sound wavering air, or is Schaua playing some sort of game with us again? We nearly got used to his accusingly rough rock'n roll attitude on the last releases, and now … he got thoughtful all of a sudden. Sitting in his hotel room, wandering over the street lighted sidewalks of his old home town. Time and people passing by. Music is playing. Everything is perfect, everything is in its place.
